Top Apps List for Our Trip

Nowadays there is no shortage of apps out there. So many of them are free and truly incredible. It has been amazing to see how our travel has changed from 2012 to now, since back in 2012 we didn’t even travel with a smartphone nor did we buy local sim cards in various countries.

Now, whenever we are in a new country we purchase a local sim card with data, allowing us to use our smartphones to access all of our apps and any information we might need when we are on the go. It has made it so much easier to get around and stay informed as well as communicate with friends and family when we are far away.

Some of my favorite apps are as follows:

Whats App

Where would we be without our family and friend group chats in Whats App. It never feels like we are on the opposite side of the world when we are just seconds away from sharing jokes, photos and funny stores with all our loved ones back home via Whats App.

Maps.me

This is an amazing map app that allows you to download maps over wifi connection that you can then continue to use without any data required. This app even allows you to use the directions feature without an internet connection. As long as you downloaded the map when you were connected you can even get driving connections when you are completely off the grid. This app has saved us on many road trips all over the world.

Skores App

Skores allows me to still have access to sports while traveling! This app shows live results from over 1000 football (soccer) leagues! For soccer fans this app is an absolute must and allows you to have access to tons of sports info! You can get both the Android app, and IOS app.

Headspace

This is my favorite wellness meditation app. I strive to meditate every day and the daily guided meditation modules are simply fantastic. So much inspiring information is shared there and this is really a necessity in today’s busy world. This allows me to disconnect and find inner peace no matter how hectic the atmosphere may be in the country or place where we are located.

Spotify

I need to have music with me wherever I go and Spotify always has me covered. By paying a small fee I can skip all commercials and it’s absolutely worth it.

Instagram

I love taking photos everywhere and love the story feature where the shots are only up for 24 hours!

That covers it for my favorite apps! I know there thousands of apps out there but I like to keep my phone relatively lean and clean so I always opt to feel a minimal amount of my favorite apps on my phone. For everything else I can always temporarily add an app and then delete it, but these are my current favorites!
