The benefits of an American getaway
Everyone needs a break, but choosing where to go can be difficult. On the other side of the pond, our American cousins have plenty of great locations for us to explore – but where should we start?

From the vast expanse of the Grand Canyon to the glitter and lights of Las Vegas, the USA is famous for many things and relaxing getaways have to be top of the list.
Chasing sunshine in Florida

For example, the second largest freshwater lake in all of the USA, Lake Okeechobee, is found here. This is in addition to more than 11,000 miles of rivers, streams and waterways and almost 2,000 miles of coastline with 1,200 miles of sandy beaches.
For those who prefer the putting green to the sand bunker, Florida has more golf courses than any other American state at over 1,250. With 19 commercial airports and 12 international ones, it’s hardly surprising that tourism figures are consistently high.
