Mohegan Sun Bachelorette Weekend
Now that I’m in my 30s it seems more of my friends are getting married. I’ve already been to three bachelorette parties and have another one coming up just next month.
So far I’ve been to a bachelorette party in Sanibel, Florida, a super laid back pool and beach trip, a more active bachelorette hopping around the various cities of Colorado, and now my most recent one was at the Mohegan Sun casino resort in Connecticut.
Outside of Vegas a casino fueled bachelorette may not be the most common but we actual had an absolute blast and were able to fit in all sorts of activities that weren’t even casino related!
Once the five of us got together in our Airbnb rental we naturally started off with drinks to celebrate the upcoming bride, one of my closest friends.
Naturally we surprised here with all sorts of bridal themes gifts and party favors, from bride themed stemless wineglasses to hand designed sleepwear shirts. We were off to a good start.
Our evening agenda revolved around the Mohegan Sun Casino. We opted to skip a formal dinner and instead went straight to the gaudy and obscene male themed show at the comedy theater in the casino. It was exactly what you would expect it to be, and I hope never to have to experience it again. Once was plenty.
From there the bride to be had gambling on her mind. Unfortunately she didn’t want to play roulette, but was all about the slot machines, a specific one in particular happened to be her favorite. Naturally, nobody won any money, and with a group loss of over $100 we were ready to go elsewhere. Thankfully if you’re gambling at the casino you do get free drinks (after quite a long wait) so it wasn’t a total loss. And there’s always the hope and anticipation that you just might strike it rich, so I guess that adds in an element of fun as well.
With that we were ready to wrap up day one and head back to our Airbnb!
Day two was off to a busy start with sweet and savory breakfast casseroles and mimosas at 10am.
We had booked an escape room to participate in at noon so we had no time to waste.
Luckily, with about a dozen clues from the business owners we were able to make it out of the escape room well within the allotted time frame. I’m not quite sure we would have made it out otherwise. Those things are seriously tricky.
Not losing any momentum from there we were off to a local winery, and yes to my surprise Connecticut does in fact have wineries.
It was a gorgeous sunny day so we were able to enjoy a tasting of five different wines and then split a bottle to enjoy on the outdoor patio along with some snacks.
Then it was back to the Airbnb for more snacks and home made white wine sangria before another outing back at the casino.
This time around we only made it through dinner before heading back. No gambling needed – every one had lost plenty on day 1.
So as it turns out Las Vegas is not the only casino related destination for a bachelorette party. If you’re located on the East Coast you can have plenty of fun at the Mohegan Sun Casino resort too!
