Kushi Restaurant Review – Washington, DC

Kushi restaurant – Washington DC
Vicky and I celebrated 2 months of not eating out (we’re trying to minimize costs right now for our trip) by…eating out. Oh well, we had a living social deal, which I guess counts for something. Surprise surprise, it was sushi again, but this time at a restaurant we hadn’t been to before – Kushi. The sushi was very enjoyable and fresh, despite it not being their specialty (which I believe is grill food). The service was nice, and the ambiance was very pleasant, with large open views showcasing the central grill and sushi area.

Itemized Bill: $40 pp Age dashi dofu, Lobster and Asparagus Roll, Pork Belly Roll, Tuna Roll, Eel and Avocado Roll, Yellowtail Roll,
Specifics
Quality: Compared to the usual sushi we find in DC, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal and considered it to be a reasonable price. In part I think that kushi does not specialize in sushi (hard to believe from the name – I know). Their specialties are more centered around the grill, which is more expensive, but perhaps even more delicious.
Price: $$$$
Service: Excellent
Interior: Really enjoyed the large interior with full view of the central grill and sushi area.
Alcohol: Vicky and I usually stick to water to keep our costs low unless it’s REALLY a special occasion.
Entertainment: N/A
Location: It would be a bit of a walk from the nearest metro, we drove there and were able to find parking very close (maybe we got lucky?).
Miscellaneous: The restaurant is pretty large but appears to fill up, not a bad idea to make reservations.
Free: N/A
Would we go back?: YES!
