Four Reasons Why I Bought a Villa in Turkey Last Year
I first went to Turkey on a summer holiday seven years ago, and since then I haven’t looked back. In fact, if anything I look forward to each and every trip I will return to the beautiful coastal resort of Dalyan. I began my adventures back then in Marmaris with a group of my girlfriends, and now my family and I have settled for a villa with plenty of space for us all to enjoy ourselves without being under each other’s feet. Being a sun worshiper, I do believe that our villa is one of the best purchases we’ve ever made; of course there were some other reasons we decided to buy too. Guaranteed accommodation
Have you ever gone overseas and had issues with the hotel you booked (or at least thought you did)? We’ve gone away before only to find that a hotel or apartment had overbooked, meaning they had more guests than rooms. This meant putting us up in a nearby hotel where we had to arrange deposits and also rearrange our transfer back to the airport; it’s stress you don’t need on holiday! Now, we know that our villa will be ready waiting for us and we don’t have to mess about when we arrive – the kids usually head straight for our pool!
Investment
We have talked about having a holiday home before, but it was more of a dream rather than a potential reality. However we sat down one day and looked at the sums, and in conjunction with us wanting our own space abroad, it actually made a lot of sense for us to buy and rent part time. We simply have a property management company who does all of the practical work for us when we rent it out, making the whole process pretty easy for us.
Location
I definitely can’t forget to mention the location of our villa; it’s gorgeous! If you haven’t been to Dalyan before, think about green mountains, turquoise waters and superb beaches. There are some brilliant attractions locally such as the famous mud baths, Turtle beach and plenty of places to eat and drink. We chose our villa due to the nature land surrounding the property, making it a quiet place to chill out when we want to get away from other people.
Space
My kids love spending time in the swimming pool, but I was always conscious of them getting in the way of serious swimmers. Now that we have our very own swimming pool, the kids can enjoy themselves without me fretting about them being too noisy. It’s also good for space within the villa as well as there is a large kitchen, living area and dining room. The bedrooms are all en-suite so we don’t have to fight over the shower before dinner time.
