Family Holidays in Ibiza

Thought Ibiza holidays were all about pubs, clubs and non-stop nights out? Think again, because as holidays go, Ibiza is one of the most diverse destinations in the summer brochure.

For fun-filled holidays with the kids, there are a number of resorts in Ibiza to choose from. Portinatx is a lovely spot located in the far north of the island, well away from the hustle and bustle of Ibiza Town and neon-lit San Antonio. Here it’s all about kicking back with the family, paddling in the shallows and enjoying the laid-back vibe of this lovely secluded resort. The beach is a sheltered affair – it’s a pretty horseshoe-shaped bay which is calm, clear and shallow, which means it’s perfect for little paddling feet. By night, the town wakes up a little with a smattering of pubs, bars, restaurants and even the odd live band or karaoke joint, so there’s always a bit of entertainment on offer.

Other family-friendly resorts in Ibiza include Puerto San Miguel. This pretty resort offers a lovely bay with a fine shingle beach that’s sheltered by rocky cliffs, making it an ideal escape for families with young children. There are a number of local activities on offer such as boat trips, perfect for exploring the region’s craggy coastline and sparkling, pristine waters. There are a few bars, shops and restaurants scattered across the resort so there’s just enough to keep families entertained of an evening without the resort becoming too busy.

Santa Eulalia is another location that’s great for family holidays. It’s one of the biggest towns on the islands and has a buzzing town centre that’s packed with shops, local amenities, bars and restaurants, along with a huge harbour filled with swish yachts, gleaming vessels and colourful fishing boats.
