A Bachelorette Weekend in Colorado
The most popular bachelorette party destination in the US has to be Las Vegas. But it’s far from the best one!
Depending on your group of friends a long weekend in Colorado might actually make for a more interesting destination, and this is exactly where one of my closest friends decided to celebrate her Bachelorette party.
Our agenda included a few different stops.
Kicking Things Off In Boulder
Our group of six congregated in Boulder, Colorado where we rented an apartment on Airbnb equipped with a deck and grill, tennis courts on the property and a pool. This was our first stop and after Bloody Mary’s over brunch at Snooze AM eatery we were ready to get the party started.
Boulder has an adorable town center filled with various boutiques, artsy stores, craft breweries, and weed dispensaries. No visit to Colorado would be complete without indulging in a bit of marijuana themed festivities (since it is legal there after all)! Naturally this was one of our first stops. As we entered the very official looking dispensary we were quickly approached by their marijuana expert who with his wealth of knowledge started shooting off names of the different types of marijuana strains and describing the type of high we could hope to achieve. I specifically remember him going into depth about the Super Silver Haze strain which aside from providing a good time is also know to help with anxiety and migraines. After a long debate we purchased some caramel edibles and were off.
Other highlights of Boulder include renting bikes by the hour to bike around and going on a local hike in the mountains (during which one of our group rolled her ankle).
Bachelor Gulch
From Boulder we were off in our rental car, driving through the gorgeous backdrop of Colorado mountains, into the heart of the state at Bachelor Gulch – the fancy Ritz Carlton resort. Spending the day hanging out at the spa pools, lounging in our robes by the firepits and frolicking by the swimming pool was exactly the kind of girly pampering we needed. Then a night out at Vail with jolly impromptu karaoke followed by late night pizza felt most appropriate. In the Bachelor Gulch area there are multiple walking and hiking trails to choose from and in the winter time plenty of ski resorts to visit. Since we were there in September the mountain air was fresh, crispy and lightly cool – the perfect time of year to enjoy roasting marshmallows by the fire. The blankets provided by the resort were most welcome.
Denver
Our bachelorette weekend ended over craft beers in Denver as well as meals at the local hipster cafes. With Denver being a bustling city there is no shortage of festivals and events to attend in the city and the various neighborhoods all have a slightly different feel to them. With clear blue skies and refreshing September weather it made for a perfect last stroll in Colorado.
