Downieville has become known as one of the best areas for bike lovers – there are just so many great trails available that suit the needs of anyone.
However, it’s best known for the extreme biking experience it can provide – with a challenging ground, fast turns and uneven roads, this one is a great adventure for anyone who’s in to the more advanced bicycle riding.
Located not too far up northeast of the city of Sacramento, the Downieville Bike Track will surely give you a great experience.
Another track just off the city of Sacramento is the American River Bike Trail, also known as the Jedediah Smith Memorial Trail. As the name inclines, it goes along the banks of the American River, going through the riparian habitat, which is preserved by the American River Parkway.
At 32 miles, this is one of the longer tracks in the region, but it’s well worth it – the track’s in great condition, the nature is beautiful and you won’t even feel the time pass as you enjoy the quiet and peaceful nature’s environment.
When you’re looking for an easy-going and relaxing bicycle track that’s also in an area that has a rich past, you can’t go wrong with the Iron Horse Regional Trail.
The area surrounding this trail has a rich history and is an important part of the San Ramon Valley’s agricultural and ranching past, so as you go through quiet residential neighborhoods, beautiful nature’s spots and will generally enjoy a great time, the only downside is that it can get crowded sometimes.
Of the most tranquil places in the region, Lake Tahoe offers plenty of bike paths for anyone who wants to get a feel of nature while riding your vintage bicycle. The lake connects the States of California and Nevada, and both sides have many tracks to choose from.
Since there are so many choices of tracks, you surely won’t feel crowded; add in the beautiful lake, surrounding forests, the calming vibes of the area, and you’ve got yourself one heck of a spot for riding on your two-wheeler.
